You are swept along the grand driveway through manicured gardens and parklands to the manor house as soon as you enter through the entrance gates. This delightful, extensively renovated property and grounds are one of Cheshire’s newest wedding venues. Being the former home of the Irlam family, this venue offers everything, and the family experience of Colshaw Hall weddings is perfectly replicated at this their second wedding venue. Featuring a great range of accommodations for the bridal party and guests onsite and in the local area, no one needs to worry about being late.
Their purpose-built Merrydale Suite and Bar provide a fantastic contemporary space with views over the lake and impressive fountain and courtyard gardens. This venue is another perfect opportunity for me, as your chosen Cheshire wedding photographer, to capture truly stunning images as you marry.
Merrydale Manor is also conveniently situated close to another Irlam family property: their family-run pub, The Dog at Peover. Featuring within The Good Pub Guide, this venue offers excellent food and overnight stays. There is an on-request shuttle service, perfect for any guests traveling to your wedding at either of the stunning Irlam family wedding venues of Merrydale Manor or Colshaw Hall.
THE LOCATION
Merrydale Manor is conveniently located just outside Knutsford, allowing easy access for you and your guests from Manchester and Cheshire to travel easily by road or rail to the venue. The small but delightful village of Over Peover is Merrydale Manor’s home. The estate offers delightfully manicured gardens and attention to detail to make your wedding day that extra bit special. Whether you are looking for a civil wedding ceremony or the perfect venue to celebrate a church wedding, Merrydale Manor owners and staff make your dreams come true.
The estate offers accommodation for up to 38 guests in the Manor House, Courtyard Rooms and Woodland Eco Lodges and is conveniently located near many hotels and B&Bs. Whilst new to Merrydale Manor weddings, the Irlam family has been fulfilling couples’ wedding dreams for many years at Colshaw Hall, the neighboring estate.

We received a small sample of pictures at our wedding breakfast which was absolutely brilliant too see and then 2 days later we received another small sample of pictures. I found this great and really helped us to relive some of the memories before receiving our final pictures.

On the day of your wedding, Merrydale Manor offers the perfect start. Whether it’s your arrival to the stunning estate on the day, or you have had an overnight stay, wanting to enjoy a quiet place to reflect with a walk in the gardens, or a slow and relaxed wake-up and breakfast before the hustle and bustle of everyone arriving ready for the exciting day ahead.
Guests traveling by car have plenty of free parking onsite, or if you want to push the boat out, with prior agreement, you can arrive or leave in a helicopter!

As your Cheshire wedding photographer, I have plenty of opportunities to capture those final hours before you join your loved one for the ceremony. Brides can prepare for the day in Merrydale Manor’s stylish makeup suite. This is glamour and style at its best. The perfect opportunity to use my photography skills to capture those special moments shared with your bridal party as you enjoy a calming drink, have your hair and makeup done and finally reveal your dress in all its splendor.
I will spend a little time with both parties to ensure you have some giggles to share after the day. I want your guests to enjoy the day and feel relaxed as the photography begins, so I work in a calm and relaxed way that doesn’t intrude on their enjoyment. I will capture the emotion, anticipation and joy that every moment of the day brings.
The Cave is the perfect setting to relax before the ceremony. Situated next to The Ceremony Room and safely out of sight of the bride, it offers space to calm the groom or best man’s last-minute nerves. Table football and vintage arcade games are a great distraction and provide fun photos. The bride can relax knowing the groom, groomsmen, family, and friends are nearby, but she is safely tucked out of sight, so as not to ruin the grand entrance.
Whatever the weather, this venue has some of the most magnificent settings, both inside and outdoors, to capture truly stunning unique wedding photos for every couple. YOUR MERRYDALE MANOR WEDDING CEREMONY
The ceremony can be held outside in the magnificent Merrydale Manor estate (weather permitting) or in the all-year-round perfect civil wedding ceremony setting that is The Ceremony Room.
This venue is ideal for dreamy ceremonies surrounded by loving friends and, of course, your photographer capturing each special moment for you! The charming wooden barn is immaculately styled. It has beamed ceilings and limestone floors that provide the perfect neutral backdrop, whatever colour scheme you choose for your flowers and wedding finery. The room itself is light and airy, perfect for stunning photographs.
If you prefer a religious ceremony, there are churches close to Merrydale Manor. With my extensive wedding photography experience in many venues across Cheshire, you can be sure that I can still be on hand with my camera for the church ceremony and your later arrival at Merrydale Manor.
As you leave the venue, I will capture the smiles and love shared with you in stunning wedding imagery you’re sure to love. Of course, we will always have time for the fun shots, confetti throwing that marks the start of your new married life and the cheeky garter shots or bouquet throwing, often a time for relaxed laughter and some of the most natural wedding images.
AFTER YOUR CEREMONY
Once you have pledged your vows and the formal aspects of the ceremony are over, the happy couple can spend some time mingling with guests and sharing a drink.
After a while, I will whisk you away for around 20 minutes to have those special first photos of a married couple and give you time to reflect on the day so far. Then it’s time for photographs with your guests and those group shots that help you remember the special people that shared your day.
I understand that couples are keen to return to their families, so I work quickly and calmly to deliver photos you will love before returning you to your loved ones. Your guests will be perfectly cared for by the dedicated wedding Merrydale Manor team with a drink and a chance to mingle before you rejoin them.
I am back for the cake cutting, the first dance, and the evening celebrations. I give you a break from the camera as you head off for your amazing wedding breakfast. I prefer not to take shots during your meal, as no one usually wants a photo with a mouthful of food! I will, however, be there to capture the speeches, the laughs they bring provide some truly unique wedding photo opportunities.

Merrydale Manor, just like its stunning sister venue Colshaw Hall offers the happy couple many opportunities to capture lasting memories of their Cheshire wedding day. The delightful surroundings ensure that whatever the weather, we are never short of the perfect location for photos.
The wooden pontoon on the lake with its stunning water fountain. Great for both daylight lake views and, come the evening, the darkness of the starlit evening sky embraces the happy couple, and the fountain shines to create some of the most stunning wedding day photography possible.
The magnificent brick manor house with its elegant oak doored porch and formal trees allows me to capture stunning couple shots.
The grounds offer many photo opportunities, not least the range of Garden Games to hire, providing fun for children and adults alike as they juggle with Giant Jenga, Connect 4 or the best man or bridesmaids tackling the Limbo!

This former polo stables offer state-of-the-art AV facilities and climate control so you and your guests can comfortably enjoy the space whilst mingling and looking over the formal gardens, courtyard and lake. The arched oak doors and a stunning bar provide the perfect setting for guests to relax before sitting for the wedding breakfast.
The Merrydale Suite offers space for most wedding party sizes with plenty of room for dancing and staging if needed to party into the evening. The stunning large feature chandelier that crowns the top table shines brightly as a stunning backdrop. The venue is dressed to ensure that whatever budget the couple has for the little extras, the venue will never let them or their wedding photographs down.

You can then choose to stay in one of the delightful season-themed rooms or accommodations within the grounds, with plenty of room for family and friends on the estate or close by. Local taxis can be booked for those heading to catch a train or home.
