Some weddings feel like catching up with old friends, and Isabelle and Byron’s beautiful July wedding at Statham Lodge Hotel was exactly that. I first met Isabelle when I photographed her sister Jessica’s wedding back in early 2020, so it was an absolute privilege to be asked back to capture another chapter in their family’s story.
Returning to photograph a sibling’s wedding is always incredibly special. It is a wonderful reminder that the photographs from one wedding often become part of a family’s history, and being trusted once again means so much.
With warm temperatures, soft overcast skies and an incredible group of family and friends, Isabelle and Byron enjoyed a day full of laughter, emotion and unforgettable moments. It was everything you could hope for as a Statham Lodge Wedding Photographer.
About Their Day
Morning Preparations at Statham Lodge Hotel
One of the many benefits of getting married at Statham Lodge Hotel is being able to spend the entire morning on site, allowing the day to unfold naturally without the stress of travelling between locations.
Isabelle spent the morning surrounded by her bridesmaids and family as excitement gradually built throughout the morning. The atmosphere was relaxed and full of laughter, with everyone enjoying those final moments together before the ceremony.
Her stunning gown from MWL Bride perfectly suited the elegant style of the day. Contemporary yet timeless, it complemented both Isabelle’s style and the beautiful surroundings of Statham Lodge.
Charlotte Marie Make Up Artist created a flawless bridal look that felt natural and fresh, while Create With Cait Jones styled Isabelle’s hair beautifully, completing a look that was effortlessly elegant.
The bridal suite at Statham Lodge offers wonderful natural light, making it an ideal space for capturing those quiet moments before the celebrations begin. As a Statham Lodge Wedding Photographer, these preparations are always some of my favourite moments to photograph, as they tell the story of the anticipation before everything truly begins.
Byron’s Morning with the Groomsmen
Elsewhere within the hotel, Byron enjoyed a relaxed morning with his groomsmen.
There was plenty of conversation, laughter and the occasional joke as everyone prepared for the day ahead. The atmosphere was calm but filled with excitement as the ceremony drew closer.
Byron looked incredibly smart in his tuxedo from Slater Menswear, a classic choice that suited the timeless style of the wedding perfectly.
Having both the bride and groom getting ready in the same venue makes the morning flow effortlessly. It allows me to move naturally between both preparations, capturing the complete story without feeling rushed. It is another reason why working as a Statham Lodge Wedding Photographer is always such a pleasure.
A Beautiful Ceremony at St Mary’s Church
Once everyone was ready, it was time to head to nearby St Mary’s Church in Lymm.
This beautiful historic church provided the perfect setting for Isabelle and Byron’s ceremony. Filled with family and friends, the church quickly became a place of smiles, happy tears and genuine emotion.
As Isabelle made her entrance, Byron’s reaction spoke volumes. Moments like these cannot be planned or recreated, making them some of the most meaningful photographs from the entire day.
The ceremony itself was wonderfully personal, full of laughter and joy while still carrying the significance of the promises being made.
As a Statham Lodge Wedding Photographer, photographing ceremonies away from the venue always adds another layer to the story. It allows couples to enjoy two beautiful locations while creating a varied collection of photographs.
A Joyful Confetti Walk
Following the ceremony, guests gathered outside the church ready to celebrate.
The confetti walk is always one of the most energetic moments of the day, and Isabelle and Byron’s was no exception.
As they walked through a tunnel of smiling guests, colourful confetti filled the air while everyone cheered and celebrated around them.
The happiness on their faces perfectly reflected the atmosphere created by everyone who had come together to celebrate.
These moments happen in seconds, but they become some of the photographs couples treasure most. Capturing them naturally is one of the things I enjoy most as a Statham Lodge Wedding Photographer.
Returning to Statham Lodge
After the celebrations at the church, everyone returned to Statham Lodge Hotel.
The warm overcast weather proved ideal. While sunshine is always welcome, soft cloud cover creates wonderfully even light that allows every part of the gardens to be used for photography throughout the afternoon.
Guests gathered outside with drinks, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere while catching up with family and friends.
The gardens at Statham Lodge are one of the venue’s greatest strengths. Beautifully maintained throughout the year, they provide plenty of space for guests to relax while also creating countless opportunities for natural photographs.
This relaxed drinks reception is one of the reasons couples love choosing Statham Lodge. It gives everyone time to slow down and simply enjoy the day together.
Exploring the Grounds for Couple Portraits
Once the family photographs were complete, Isabelle and Byron enjoyed a short walk together around the grounds.
Statham Lodge offers a wonderful variety of locations for portraits, all within easy walking distance of one another.
We began at the beautiful bandstand, one of the venue’s most recognisable features. It provides a timeless setting that works beautifully for romantic portraits.
From there we wandered through the leafy walkways where the mature trees created a peaceful atmosphere away from the excitement of the reception.
The manicured gardens offered another elegant backdrop, while the charming seated swing added a more relaxed and playful feel to the photographs.
One of the highlights of the afternoon was photographing the couple in front of the stunning wisteria growing across the front of the lodge. Even during July it still provided beautiful texture and colour that perfectly complemented the classic architecture of the building.
One of the greatest strengths of being a Statham Lodge Wedding Photographer is knowing how to make the most of every corner of these beautiful grounds while ensuring couples never spend too long away from their guests.
A Beautifully Styled Wedding Breakfast
Guests were welcomed into the beautifully decorated wedding breakfast room where Flossy Pots had transformed the space with elegant styling.
Every detail had been carefully considered, creating a room that felt sophisticated while remaining warm and inviting.
As Isabelle and Byron made their entrance, they were greeted with huge applause before taking their seats surrounded by everyone they love.
The speeches followed, bringing plenty of laughter along with a few emotional moments. They perfectly reflected the personalities of the couple and the close relationships they share with their families and friends.
As a Statham Lodge Wedding Photographer, these moments are always incredibly rewarding to capture because genuine reactions unfold constantly throughout the room.
Waiting proudly within the reception room was the stunning wedding cake created by Thelwall Bake House.
An Incredible Evening Celebration
As daylight began to soften, the evening celebrations gathered momentum.
The band’s live performance immediately filled the dance floor and created an incredible atmosphere from the very first song.
Combined with Isabelle and Byron’s wonderfully energetic guests, there was never a shortage of laughter, dancing or unforgettable moments.
The dance floor remained busy throughout the evening, with guests of every generation joining the celebrations.
These lively receptions always create some of the most spontaneous photographs. Whether it is friends singing together, family members laughing or unexpected dance moves, every few seconds presents another wonderful moment to capture.
This is exactly why I love being a Statham Lodge Wedding Photographer. Every wedding is different, but the genuine emotion and celebration remain at the heart of every story.

Statham Lodge Hotel continues to be one of Cheshire’s most popular wedding venues for very good reason.
Its elegant country house setting combines beautifully maintained gardens with stylish interiors, creating an ideal location for every stage of the wedding day.
Having both indoor and outdoor spaces allows couples to enjoy the venue whatever the weather, while its convenient location close to Lymm makes it easily accessible for guests travelling from across the North West.
For photographers, the venue offers endless opportunities throughout the grounds. From the bandstand and leafy pathways to the formal gardens and beautiful frontage, every area has its own character.

Final Thoughts
It was such a pleasure to photograph Isabelle and Byron’s wedding and even more special to be reunited with their family after photographing Jessica’s wedding a few years earlier.
Their day was full of everything a summer wedding should be. Warm weather, wonderful people, beautiful surroundings and countless moments of genuine happiness.
