My goal is to make sure you have all the information you need to feel confident and excited about choosing me as your wedding photographer. General Questions
What is your photography style? My style is a harmonious blend of documentary photography with a dash of creative portraiture. I thrive on capturing your day as it naturally unfolds, spotlighting genuine emotions and fleeting moments, while also crafting those timeless, editorial-style portraits that tell the story of your love.
How long have you been a wedding photographer? I embarked on this wonderful journey of wedding photography in 2009. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of capturing over 680 weddings, each with its own unique story and magic.
How do we book you for our wedding? Securing your date is as simple as sending over a £350 booking fee. This fee is initially refundable for 14 days, offering you peace of mind and flexibility. To book, just review the pre-contract information I’ll send your way, make the payment, and then I’ll get the contract over to you. It’s all straightforward and transparent.
Before the Wedding
Can we meet you before the wedding? Absolutely, and I highly recommend it! Whether it’s in person, a video call, or a casual coffee meet-up, getting to know each other is key to a great experience on your wedding day. It helps us connect and ensures you’re comfortable with me and my camera.
Do you offer engagement shoots? Yes, engagement or pre-wedding shoots are available and a great way for us to get to know each other better. Plus, you’ll get a collection of beautiful photos to celebrate this special time.
Can we provide a shot list? I encourage trust in my documentary approach but understand the importance of not missing any key shots. Feel free to share a short list of must-have photos, particularly for family groupings.
During the Wedding
Can you photograph both of our preparations? Certainly! I can cover both preparations as long as the locations are within a 20-minute drive of each other. I typically start with one partner and spend most of the preparation time with the person closest to the ceremony venue, ensuring I also capture arrival and guest greeting moments. If needed, a second photographer can be arranged to cover both preparations comprehensively.
Do you do family group shots? Indeed! While my style leans towards documentary, I understand the significance of family group photos. We’ll plan the sequence ahead of time, and I aim to capture these shots quickly and enjoyably, so you have more time to celebrate with loved ones.
What do you wear? I dress smartly, aiming to blend in like a well-dressed guest. This allows me to capture candid moments discreetly. Comfort is key, so I opt for soft-soled shoes to move quietly and unobtrusively.
Do we have to feed you? While not a requirement, I’m grateful for any meal provisions during your wedding breakfast. This time allows me to take a short break and recharge for the remainder of your celebration, ensuring no moment goes unnoticed.
After the Wedding
How long does it take to receive our photos? Delivery times vary by season but expect around 6 weeks for off-peak weddings and up to 12 weeks during peak season. I also provide a selection of preview images within 24-48 hours after your wedding.
How many photos do we get? Your love story is unique, and so is the number of photos you’ll receive. Expect a minimum of 500 beautifully edited images, with no upper limit. The final count often exceeds 1000, depending on the day’s events.
Can we print the photos? Yes! You’ll receive all images fully edited, with the freedom to download and print them as you wish. Your online gallery, accessible indefinitely, also features a print shop for easy ordering.
Logistics and Technicalities
When will my balance be due? Your final balance payment is due one month before your wedding date. This ensures all financial details are settled well in advance, allowing us to focus on the excitement of your day.
What happens if you’re ill on our wedding day? While it’s thankfully a rare situation, should I be unable to attend your wedding due to illness, I have a reliable network of professional photographers ready to step in. Your memories are in safe hands, ensuring your day is captured beautifully regardless.
How far do you travel? My camera and I love adventures! I cover weddings all over the UK and internationally, with travel included in my Late Night Collection Package for the North of England. For distant locales, I may request accommodation to ensure I’m fresh and ready for your big day.
What equipment do you use? I’m equipped with top-tier professional cameras and lenses, ensuring I’m prepared for any scenario. Plus, I always carry backup gear to guarantee that no moment is missed.
Do you have insurance? Yes, I’m fully insured, including liability and equipment insurance, for your peace of mind and the protection of your special day.
Do you have a payment plan? Understanding the financial aspects of wedding planning, I offer flexible payment plans to suit your needs. After the initial booking fee, we can discuss a payment schedule that works for you.
