A Guide To The Best Wedding Photography At Colshaw Hall

The Lee Brown Photography Guide to Wedding Photography At Colshaw Hall.

A wedding at Colshaw Hall is something truly magical. As a wedding photographer, this venue never disappoints. Whether they’re sunny days, snowy days, or anything in between, it is always a day I very much look forward to. Cheshire’s Colshaw Hall is a private estate where you will have all to yourself for your wedding day. You enter through gates onto an elegant driveway and head past the lake and wonderful Japanese-style garden before reaching the magnificent hall and stables.

This Irlam family wedding venue offers you and your guests a day you will never forget, and I am delighted every time I am there as a photographer. Described as the Jewel in the Crown of Cheshire wedding venues, the Irlam family and their team of professionals can assist you with your choice of food, entertainment, drinks, décor and flowers, and a wedding planning service if you want to leave the stress to someone else. As a regular wedding photographer at Colshaw Hall, I can assure you it is always a wonderful setting for beautiful wedding photography that I am proud to capture on camera.

Colshaw Hall is the height of luxury for weddings and celebratory parties in the North West. It offers everything and more that any couple looking to hold their civil wedding ceremony or reception after a church service could wish for. Situated in the lovely village of Over Peover, just outside Knutsford, your guests will benefit from being within easy reach of Manchester, Wilmslow, Cheshire and Macclesfield to make their journey on the big day simple. The happy couple and their guests have exclusive use of the venue on their wedding day. The venue has many accommodation styles for before and after the wedding stays.

Colshaw Hall Wedding Review – Rebecca & Carl

Wow, Lee what can we say, there are no words to tell you how absolutely over the moon we are with our wedding pictures.

I first found Lee on Instagram after searching for something a little different I came across Lee’s profile. It was everything we wanted out of a photographer. His style is so relaxed and seems to capture the most perfect special moments without knowing he’s there.

We, like many others, postponed our 2020 wedding and were so happy Lee could accommodate us.
We had a couple of phone calls along with many emails leading up to the wedding So when the wedding day arrived we felt like he knew about us as a couple and was part of the day not just as a photographer but so much more.

He was an absolute pleasure to have with us throughout getting ready, the ceremony and right through to the evening reception and he captured the day so perfectly, he exceeded all our expectations and more.

I’ve watched our wedding slide show 4 times in 3 days, it’s amazing how a picture tells a thousand words and Lee just manages that so effortlessly without you feeling like you’re being photographed.

Anytime I hear of an engagement I’m the first to recommend you.
I can’t thank you enough for capturing our day so perfectly, we absolutely love our album.

Book Lee without hesitation it’ll be the best thing you do!

Colshaw Hall has the perfect setting for the bride and groom and their wedding party to prepare for the big day. The gorgeous bridal suite in the main hall is ideal for the bride to relax before the ceremony, prepare for the big day, and have a few memorable moments captured on camera. From bridesmaids and mothers of the bride, there are often some jovial moments that are special to look back on after the event, those moments that, without great wedding photos, could be lost forever. I will be happy to capture those final moments before you head off to be married.

With a variety of accommodations on the estate, in Colshaw Hall’s stunning range of suites and rooms or the many cottages and lodges within the grounds, there is an excellent choice for many of your guests to enjoy the luxury estate too. The estate is also close to many hotels and B&Bs, suitable if guests wish to stay over.

I have been the chosen Cheshire Wedding photographer for weddings throughout the year at Colshaw Hall. The venue is simply amazing, whatever the weather. The hall and grounds offer many fantastic opportunities to make the day truly personal to you and your intended.

The highly professional Colshaw Hall wedding team work tirelessly to give you a special day everyone will love and be delighted to share with you as you embark on your married life. While you are getting ready, I will discreetly be there, camera in hand, to capture the laughs and special moments that pre-wedding hours offer. My photography at this Cheshire venue will include time with both parties before the ceremony.

Cheshire’s Colshaw Hall offers something for all ages to enjoy as part of your special day. You and your wedding party will have exclusive use of the venue and grounds, and your guests will have so much to enjoy while you are getting ready before the ceremony and after whilst you are off, having a little time after the ceremony to relax and have those special couple photos taken. Before the ceremony, I will take time to capture photographs of your guests mingling, moments that are special to your day that you aren’t there to see.

My Images will perfectly capture the anticipation and buzz of the day for you to look back on forever. As an experienced Cheshire wedding photographer, I can honestly say that Colshaw Hall doesn’t need the summer to be the perfect wedding venue. This estate is one of few genuinely magnificent all year round. Cold and snowy winters, autumnal colours and new spring growth ensure this venue is superb every wedding day and allows couples to marry outside the most popular summer months.

Whether you choose to hold your ceremony in The Stables for larger weddings or the smaller Langford Brook and Music Room (intimate ceremonies for up to 32 people) or outside within the grounds, the team at Colshaw Hall ensure everything is perfect for you. The venue is licensed for indoor, spring, and summer outdoor weddings for civil ceremonies and same-sex unions. The Stable offers magnificent oak beams, leaded windows and marble flooring. Every venue in this opulent wedding setting is perfect for a photographer based in Cheshire to capture glorious wedding memories for couples.

Couples can personalise their wedding venue with the colours and flowers of their choice, and the Colshaw Hall wedding team is always on hand with different ideas if you are looking for inspiration. You can use the iPod connection, PA system, or the baby grand piano to play music throughout your ceremony. The Stables have air conditioning and heating, again helping to make this the perfect year-round venue.

Colshaw Hall’s team and toastmaster ensure everyone knows what is happening throughout the day. Some couples choose to arrive together, which is excellent for those who want their children to be part of the ceremony and make the grand entrance with them, or the groom can stand expectantly waiting for the announcement of the bride’s arrival.

The Irlam family have been a part of Over Peover for many years and can advise you on churches nearby if you wish to hold your ceremony in a local church before heading over to Colshaw Hall for your celebrations. As your local Cheshire photographer, I have a broad knowledge of all Cheshire wedding venues, so I can be there wherever you hold your ceremony.

As the couple walk their way back up the aisle, I will capture smiles and congratulations and the obligatory environmentally friendly confetti shots that many couples consider a must.

Guests will be able to enjoy a drinks reception in The Pavilion. The couple and their guests can mingle within the grounds when the formal ceremony ends. This is my opportunity to capture some great images as everyone is a little more relaxed and looking forward to the wedding breakfast and reception fun. After a time, I whisk the couple away to take photographs within the grounds, using the incredible and unique opportunities only this venue can offer.

This time before the couple join their guests for the group shot captures the couple at their best. After all, you’ll still be feeling the buzz of the ceremony and you can enjoy a few special moments alone before the bustle of the reception and party to follow. I use this time to capture your love before the business of the group shots gets underway.

As an experienced Cheshire wedding photographer, I will speak with you before the day to learn about you and what is important to you for your wedding day. We will discuss how you want to approach your photos. Whilst I bring my unique style to your wedding day photo memories, there are the essential group photos and the need to know how you want your guests involved in my pictures.

I recommend keeping the group shots to a maximum of around ten to reduce the people herding before everyone heads into the reception to ensure everyone stays relaxed and enjoying the day. My photography should be a wonderful addition to your special day, not a hindrance.

Colshaw Hall offers some of the greatest delights in Cheshire for wedding photography, with its manicured gardens and hall unrivalled for beauty. I love all of the photographs possible from this venue, but my favourite spots must include the following –

The bridge within the Japanese-style garden is perfect for capturing the romantic splendour of the day.

I also have to mention Coleshaw Hall itself. High ceilings, magnificent staircases, elegant décor, and stone-mullioned windows are a camera’s dream. Both inside and outside photo opportunities are tremendous.

The Magnolia and Walled Garden offer inspirational photo opportunities unique to this venue for me to capture images of the couple on their wedding day.

Whilst not a spot in itself, I have to mention how beautiful the grounds are maintained throughout the year, making autumn, winter, and spring brings a special ambience to weddings in every season.

As food is calling, the wedding party and guests will head to The Peel Suite to enjoy the wedding breakfast of your dreams. The toastmaster is on hand to ensure the bride and groom are welcomed to rapturous applause as they make their way to the top table to enjoy their meal. The superb team at Colshaw Hall offer tasty catering options by Barretts at Coleshaw Hall, chef Matthew Barrett and his team. Their menus can range from simple canapes to a wide selection of full meal options, each of which the happy couple can choose to suit their tastes.

The Peel Suite is bathed in light from the windows that line either side of the room, and the stunning views of the walled garden are sure to give your guests something to admire as their food is served. With climate control, you can be sure that the temperature is perfect for the day, and audio-visual equipment use is included. The area also has a bar where guests can relax or move away from the dance floor.

I will take photos of the speeches, whether you choose to hold these before or after your wedding breakfast, the cake-cutting ceremony and any special moments you require. I will, of course, capture the speeches and the relaxed and fun photos when the laughter of how the couple met, or some long-forgotten tales of the bride and groom, often remembered to get a laugh during a speech.

However, during the meal, I prefer to leave you and your guests alone to enjoy the fantastic food without the invasion of my camera. After dinner, I enjoy taking more relaxed pictures of your guests as they mingle and enjoy the celebration of your marriage with you.

The evening brings yet more opportunities for genuinely magical photographs for your Cheshire wedding, so weather permitting, I suggest the bride and groom head with me for a few last shots as we take another stroll around the grounds to enjoy the beauty of the day as the evening sets in. The Colshaw Hall team ensure that my job as a photographer is easy and that I have every opportunity to present my wedding couples with amazing images from their day within their beautiful Hall and gardens.

The entire team bring a wealth of experience to ensure every wedding day is exceptional, and I am there to record these beautiful moments in time with my camera for you. That, to me, is a real honour!

After the formal day, it’s time to party away, and Colshaw Hall will not disappoint. I will also be there for that special first dance and festivities throughout the evening to capture photos of your guests relaxing and enjoying your celebrations before you depart and your guests head home or to one of the many rooms and residences on the estate or nearby.

Whatever your plan for your evening music and entertainment, this venue will ensure the evening runs as smoothly as the daytime. You will have a choice to offer your guests other food, and they can explore the grounds and enjoy why you chose this stunning venue for your wedding celebrations. You will certainly give them a wonderful day to remember, and I will use my camera and photography skills with photos of your Cheshire wedding day to ensure you have photos forever.

I hope you can see from my guide to weddings and my photography at Colshaw Hall in Cheshire as much as I do being the photographer there. A visit to see all that Colshaw Hall offer for weddings and celebrations is a must. I am sure you will share my joy in all this venue offers couples to make the wedding day of their dreams.
