I was up in Preston on Saturday at Farington Lodge, a grade II listed Georgian house, covered in gorgeous autumnal foliage with Katie and Mark for their vintage, Christmas themed wedding.
Clubmans, Christmas trees and Jager to calm the nerves
The groom and his boys Wes and Ben arrived in style in old Mini’s. There was even a classic Mini Clubman, a nod to the vintage theme of the day. Not a single new-fangled spacious mini in sight (are they even really mini’s?).
Katie wore a stunning beaded gown from Brides Gallery Heskin, who also catered to Mark and of course 3 year old son Max who looked dapper in his tweed three piece.
The bride and groom met in the bar for an emotional first look and a swift shot of Jagermeister to calm the nerves before heading down the aisle together.
Although the weather was lovely and sunny, the Christmas trees were out in force and the festive feeling was certainly in the air as they tied the knot in style in front of a beautiful curtain of fairy lights.
These two are so in love and after a lovely ceremony they walked back down the aisle hand in hand with Max who beamed from ear to ear and took it all in his stride for his starring role.
More Jager, Pork Pies and Sparkles.
Jager seemed to be a running theme as the table decorations featured mini bottles of the strong stuff alongside red wine and Ferrero Rocher, the perfect Christmas combination. The room was beautifully dressed by Add a Little Sparkle and of course as you do ‘oop North’, the wedding cake was made out of none other than pork pies from multi award-winning Yorkshire Butchers Lishmans of Ilkley.
We took a stroll around the grounds in the sun with the autumn colours still going strong for some couples portraits and I could really feel the love in the air, Katie and Mark thank you so much for having me at your wedding, a truly fun-filled and emotional day.
