White Hart Lydgate Wedding Photography. Summer weddings often bring to mind bright sunshine, blooming flowers, and outdoor celebrations. But what happens when the weather takes a turn? For Lauren and James, their wedding day may not have been graced with sunshine, but it was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Held at the picturesque White Hart at Lydgate, their rainy summer wedding proved that magic can still happen, even under gray skies.

Preparations and Anticipation

Lauren’s day began in a flurry of excitement and anticipation. Her bridal preparation took place in a charming suite, where the talented team from LUX Studio worked their magic. Lauren’s makeup was elegant and radiant, perfectly complementing her natural beauty. Meanwhile, Reve Hair & Beauty styled her hair into a timeless updo, ensuring it would remain flawless despite the unpredictable weather.

Her stunning wedding gown, purchased from Once Upon A Bride, was a vision of sophistication and grace. The intricate lace detailing and flowing train made Lauren look like she had stepped straight out of a fairy tale. As she slipped into her dress, the excitement in the room was palpable, with her bridesmaids offering heartfelt words of encouragement.

The Venue: The White Hart at Lydgate

Nestled in the heart of the countryside, The White Hart at Lydgate is renowned for its breathtaking views and intimate charm. Although the rainclouds obscured the panoramic vistas, the venue’s warmth and character shone through. The Oak Room, where the wedding breakfast was to be held, was impeccably decorated by Elegant Beautiful. Twinkling fairy lights, lush greenery, and elegant centerpieces brought the room to life, creating a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere.

Arrival in Style

Lauren and James chose Horgans’ classic wedding cars for their transportation. As the sleek, vintage vehicles arrived, guests were in awe of their timeless elegance. Despite the rain, the cars provided a glamorous touch, making their arrivals a moment to remember. Guests huddled under umbrellas, cheering as Lauren stepped out, her smile brighter than the stormy skies.

A Ceremony Full of Emotion

The ceremony was held indoors, an intimate affair filled with heartfelt vows and tender moments. The sound of rain tapping against the windows added a touch of romance, as if nature itself was offering a gentle serenade. Lauren’s walk down the aisle was met with gasps of admiration, and James’s expression of pure love as he saw his bride for the first time was enough to bring tears to many eyes.

Surrounded by family and friends, Lauren and James exchanged vows that were both poignant and personal. Their love story, filled with shared adventures and unwavering support, was celebrated in every word and glance.

Celebrations in The Oak Room

After the ceremony, guests were welcomed into The Oak Room for the wedding breakfast. The room was a masterpiece, thanks to Elegant Beautiful’s meticulous attention to detail. The tables were adorned with stunning floral arrangements by Andreas Flowers, featuring a mix of soft pastel blooms and vibrant greenery. The romantic ambiance was further enhanced by candlelight, creating a warm and inviting glow.

The meal itself was a culinary delight, with guests savoring a menu that showcased the finest local ingredients. Laughter and conversation filled the room as toasts were raised to the newlyweds. The speeches were a highlight, ranging from heartfelt and emotional to laugh-out-loud funny. James’s best man delivered a speech that had everyone in stitches, while Lauren’s father brought tears with his touching words about his daughter.

Unexpected Entertainment

One of the day’s most memorable surprises came during the wedding breakfast. Silver Service Singers, disguised as waitstaff, burst into song, stunning the guests with their incredible voices. What started as a quiet meal quickly turned into a lively performance, with guests clapping along and joining in. The surprise act added a unique and joyous element to the day, leaving everyone buzzing with excitement.

Dancing the Night Away

As the evening festivities began, the rain showed no signs of letting up. But inside The White Hart at Lydgate, the atmosphere was anything but gloomy. The entertainment, provided by Club Class Entertainment, featured a DJ and saxophonist who kept the dance floor alive all night. The seamless blend of beats and live saxophone created an electric energy, with guests of all ages letting loose and dancing with abandon.

Lauren and James’s first dance was a moment of pure magic. Despite the rain outside, the couple swayed together as if they were the only two people in the world. The music, the soft lighting, and the love radiating from the couple made it a scene straight out of a movie.

Capturing Every Moment

No detail of the day went unnoticed, thanks to videographer James Wray. With his keen eye and creative approach, he documented every laugh, tear, and stolen glance. His footage perfectly encapsulated the spirit of the day, ensuring that Lauren and James would be able to relive their wedding for years to come. Even the rain became a beautiful part of the story, with shots of droplets on windows and umbrellas adding a cinematic touch.

About The White Hart Lydgate

The White Hart has enjoyed a rich and varied history since it was built in 1788 by local landowner John Buckley. From being the local police station, with the top floor used to lock up the prisoners in shackles, to a schoolhouse, then a weaver’s cottage, the building was then used in the Second World War as a lookout point, with the cellars a bomb shelter.

The Buckley family sold the pub in 1921 to the Gartside Brewery and it remained brewery owned until 1987. In June 1994, Charles Brierley bought the freehold of The White Hart Inn and has extended and renovated the pub, turning it into the award-winning venue it is today.

The White Hart is set in the rolling hills of Saddleworth, located in the picturesque village of Lydgate, with incredible views across the Pennines.

For your special day, nothing could be more idyllic than saying “I do” in one of the stunning rooms. With the ability to cater for small intimate weddings, or going all out with 200 guests, The White Hart is the perfect venue for any bridal couple’s ceremony, wedding breakfast, and evening entertainment.

Your guests will arrive through a private entrance into The Oak Room which was built in 2005 using green oak timbers, the stunning vaulted ceiling design with central glass atrium is light, airy, and unique and allows you and your guests to flow effortlessly from ceremony to reception drinks and the wedding breakfast. The Oak room can cater for upto 180 guests for your wedding breakfast and 230 for your evening reception.
