I have a busy year ahead for Merrydale Manor wedding photography, so was thrilled to return there for the wedding of Nathalie & James. Having chatted to the couple a few weeks back I knew what they were planning was going to be pretty special and the whole day really didn’t disappoint! I started the day by spending a little time with them both, James was with his groomsmen in The Cave, chatting, enjoying a beer, and looking forward to the day ahead. Natalie arrived soon after and enjoyed the luxury of the Manor House, enjoying some drinks with her bridesmaids before getting dressed in the amazing bridal suite. She also did a pretty magical outfit reveal by descending the stairs of the house where she was greeted with delighted gasps and tears from her parents and bridesmaids.
A Jewish Fusion Ceremony
The guests were soon seated in the beautifully decorated Ceremony Room and an emotional James (we love an emotional groom!!) was comforted by his best man as the bridesmaids, his laughter, and finally, Nathalie herself walked down the aisle accompanied by her proud father. After a heartfelt ceremony filled with some more tears and much laughter, the couple shared their first kiss and paid homage to Nathalie’s Jewish heritage by ‘breaking the glass’ symbolizing that marriage holds sorrow as well as joy and is a representation of the commitment to stand by one another even in hard times. The delighted guests shouted “Mazel Tov!” or to wish the couple a great destiny as Nathalie & James walked back up the aisle as husband and wife.
Merrydale Suite Wedding Breakfast
The couple enjoyed a massive confetti exit to their ceremony and made their way over to the Merrydale Suite for their drinks reception and to chat with their family and friends. The guests were entertained by the fantastic String Infusion who played a wide mix of songs and delighted the guests with a bit of Oasis who joined in and raised the roof! After some family groups and a wander around the grounds of the Manor House, the guests were welcomed into their wedding breakfast where they enjoyed a delicious 3-course meal by the always amazing Barratts Event Caterers. After a fantastic round of speeches to break up the courses, the couple wandered the tables to enjoy a chat and a laugh with all the guests at different tables, this kind of thing is documentary photography gold!
Israeli Dancing The Night Away
Every wedding should incorporate Israeli dancing, FACT! After the couple cut their awesome Harry Potter theme wedding cake, they took to the floor to enjoy their first dance before being joined by their guests who kept the dancefloor pretty busy all night! Nathalie’s family soo encouraged all the guests to get up and join in with some traditional Israeli dancing, known as ‘The Hora’ where the guests circle danced around them, hoisted them up on chairs and the guys take part in some high-energy spinning, and dancing games. Needless to say, it makes for some amazing party photography and it’s always a pleasure to be a part of it.
So a huge Mazel Tov! to Nathalie & James, it’s been a pleasure to get to know you both!
