Set within a stunning private 30-acre estate in the heart of Cheshire, this venue is considered one of the country’s most beautiful barn wedding venues. The Oak Tree of Peover, whilst nestled in the countryside, is close to M6 and on the outskirts of Knutsford, making it the perfect wedding venue, even for guests traveling from further afield.
Nestled in this tranquil private estate is the stunning, aptly named Acorn Room, which has been the home for many couples wishing to marry at The Oak Tree of Peover since their first wedding in 2014. The Acorn room is ideally flooded with natural light through floor-to-ceiling windows and skylights, which perfectly sets off the rustic beamed barn, and natural spirals of bougainvillea provide multiple color flower booms that reach the impressive ceiling.
Upon arrival, your guests will be welcomed into The Acorn Bar, the venue’s main bar area, which is also superb in the colder months as the real log fire will be burning. The growing foliage-covered balcony, comfy seating, and fairy lights will set the perfect ambiance for your guests and bring great expectations for the rest of the wedding day.
Couples can choose where they wish to be married, including The Ladybird Room, named after the influx of ladybirds who took residence during the new build. If the groom is looking for somewhere to prepare, there is also a designated Groom’s Room, which has a shower, mirrors, hairdryer, and comfy seating so they too can relax knowing they are just a short walk from the wedding ceremony room.
Whilst this Cheshire wedding venue does not offer overnight guest accommodation, it is ideally located close to many quality establishments where the happy couple and guests can stay before the big day or head off once the day is over. THE OAK TREE OF PEOVER WEDDING CEREMONY
Civil ceremonies take place in The Ladybird Room, and in warmer months, couples can take their vows in the outdoor pavilion, both licensed for civil ceremonies.
The Ladybird Room is a recent addition (2019) to the wedding facilities at The Oak Tree of Peover, and it has rightly become popular for couples who want a venue swathed in natural light and stunningly high ceilings featuring exposed oak beams.
Whilst the music of your choice plays, your guests will certainly delight in the beauty of their surroundings as they wait for the bride to arrive. As an experienced wedding photographer for many Cheshire weddings, I have unique opportunities to use the light to create the most incredible photographic memories of your wedding here.
For the warmer days, the Outdoor Pavilion offers a stunning chance to be closer to nature and the countryside that this lovely venue sits happily within. Guests will be seated on handmade wooden benches and easily take in the beautiful Cheshire countryside.
If you wish to be married in a church or other venue, then The Oak Tree of Peover will not disappoint as a venue for your post-marriage celebrations. They will be delighted to host your post-ceremony celebrations so you can still enjoy the unique surroundings and facilities this setting offers.
AFTER YOUR CEREMONY
Once the formalities of the ceremony are over, and you have left the ceremony rooms to rapturous applause and perhaps the traditional confetti shower or guest arch all captured in your wedding photos, then it’s time for you and your guests to relax with a drink and look forward to the rest of the day.
The Acorn Bar is situated close by, so guests can head there to mingle, and the outdoor terrace offers space for guests to mingle before everyone heads off to share your wedding breakfast.
At this point, I like to take the bride and groom off briefly for some beautiful just-married wedding photographs. Usually, around 20 minutes is perfect, where they can relax a little and reflect on the day so far. Your guests will be well looked after during this time and have time to catch up with family and friends or enjoy some of the stunning grounds and views before rejoining you to eat.
Before your wedding day, we will chat about your wedding photographs, and as I know the venue well, I will be able to offer some insight and guide you to the spots where I know I can capture the perfect wedding imagery on your special day. The setting at The Oak Tree of Peover offers wedding couples the ideal mix of splendor, formality, and elegance while remaining relaxed so everyone has the best possible day.
This venue doesn’t disappoint with the opportunities it gives me. I understand that you will also want to get back to your guests, so we aren’t away for too long, just enough time for you to relax and for me to stand back and capture the many natural moments that lend themselves to the best pictures. When genuine joy and happiness radiate, to see this captured in photos that will last a lifetime for you and your friends is truly magical.
I capture the formal wedding photographs of your wedding party before the wedding breakfast, so once done, you can relax and enjoy your chosen wedding breakfast and begin your celebrations together.
Confetti throwing, garter shots, and group wedding photos can then be taken. I ensure your guests are happy and relaxed and look forward to being called to step forward for a picture or two. If I know in advance the photographs you would like of friends and family, this will be planned and of course, should you suddenly think of others on the day, then just let me know and I will also be happy to oblige.

The stunning natural beauty of The Oak Tree of Peover wedding venue leaves me speechless. Whatever time of year, I have the pleasure of being the chosen wedding photographer for this Cheshire venue. It’s hard to narrow down the best wedding photo opportunities at the Oak Tree, but some of my favorites are:
The front of the pavilion with the clock and terracing. Perfect for bridal party photos and sometimes a cheeky garter shot or bouquet toss image.
The backdrop of the trees and skyline as the light magically bathes the ground is stunning in this delightful countryside setting.
Capturing the couple coming through the floral arch in the day or with some creative evening photography.
It doesn’t happen often, but when the fields are bathed in the snow or golden evening sunshine against the white of a wedding gown, shows just how magical this Cheshire wedding venue is at any time of year.
YOUR WEDDING BREAKFAST
The Oak Tree of Peover has a close working relationship with caterers, all offering a unique style and service, so you will have plenty of trusted choices to bring you food that fits what you want for your Cheshire wedding at The Oak Tree. Of course, you can also choose from a large selection of wines and drinks, ensuring that you and your guests are well-catered.
Unless specifically asked otherwise, I leave you and your guests to enjoy your meal without worrying about being captured in a photo while eating. Whether you choose a formal sit-down wedding breakfast, or something a little different, once you have finished eating, I will be there again, camera in hand, ready to capture some great wedding photographs during the speeches.
