I have to admit that I’m pretty lucky to have taken part in Nicola & Carl’s Hyde Bank Farm Wedding Photography! Getting to go to a party every weekend and taking photos is a pretty unique thing to do with your life and I’m pretty thankful for the privilege. Nicola & Carl’s wedding was amazing from start to finish, these guys with their family and friends were so very welcoming throughout the day and they had such an excellent time. Wedding photography at Hyde Bank Farm is always going to be a great day, Mandy, Alan, and their team know how to throw a party and this one didn’t disappoint!

I spent the morning with Nicola who got ready at home whilst Carl and his guys got ready at Bredbury Hall Hotel nearby. There was a great atmosphere with the girls, loads of giggles, bouncing music and a glass of fizz or two. Time sped by pretty quickly and I soon left the girls to make the short hop over to Hyde Bank Farm. The couple were having their ceremony in the Stone Barn and their guests were gathered chatting to the groom and his friends. Nicola arrived soon after in her Bently and elegantly made her way down the aisle to meet a slightly emotions Carl.

Drinks And Confetti Showers

The weather gods were a little all over the place come the time for the drinks reception, however, the venue has plenty of space for guests to relax and space for family photos too. Spotting a gap in the rain, I whisked the couple out for a few portraits down by the canal bridge before wandering back up to the farm for an amazing confetti shower and loads of hugs and congratulatory kisses for the couple from the guests.

Wedding Breakfast In The Main Barn

A year or two back, Hyde Bank Farm went through a major expansion to create a larger barn space for wedding breakfasts and evening parties. It’s always beautifully decorated especially by the in-house florist Classy Blooms who were tasked with creating an elegant set of floral displays and matching table settings with rosemary herb name cards and customized cookies for the guests. The guests greeted Nicola and Carl into their wedding breakfast and enjoyed a delicious meal before a round of speeches afterward.

Colour Blue Wedding Band

After dinner, I wandered the room capturing the relaxed and fun-loving atmosphere before the evening began. The couple enjoyed a whole new bunch of hugs and kisses, chatting and laughing with their evening guests. Nicola & Carl soon cut their amazing wedding cake and took to the dance floor to perform their amazing first dance. They were soon joined by family and friends who spent the rest of the night laughing, dancing and having a ball.

So what a fantastic day! Huge congratulations to Nicola & Carl, I had an amazing day with you, your family, and friends, thanks so much for having me with you as your photographer!

About Hyde Bank Farm

On the south end of this building is a date stone marked ‘ARH 1655’. It is a grade two listed building because of its architectural and historical interest. The building’s previous use was a barn, where horse-drawn carts would pull in to unload hay and corn sheaves into the lofts. On the ground floor was a stable for three Shire horses that provided the horsepower for the farm. By the 1990s the old building developed a serious lean towards the south, so the present owners Alan and Philip Blackhurst decided to make the structure safe and convert it to what it is today. To do this they had to strip off the stone flag roof, winch the wooden trusses back to their original position and then place the stone flags back. All of the beams and the stone roof flats are the originals used to make the building in 1655.
