When I first met Sophie & Kev, they told me a little about what they were planning for their wedding and I kind of sat there with a massive smile on my face. From the beginning to end, their Chetham’s School Of Music Wedding Photography was truly epic and one that I had looked forward to for a while. Such amazingly genuine and fun-loving people who made my job pretty effortless.
The Epic #Plashwedding at Great John Street Hotel
Sophie had spent the morning at the Great John Street Hotel with her family and bridesmaids. Everyone was in a great mood, the sun was out, champagne was flowing and classic TV show theme tunes were blasting out of the speakers. Sophie had chosen a beautiful Jenny Packham dress with some truly unique shoes to match, Kev had suited himself in a snazzy floral navy suit with burgundy velvet bow tie, matching Dr Martin’s and Manchester bee cufflinks. They were both super relaxed, calm, and ready for an ace day ahead.
Chetham’s School Of Music Wedding Photography
I raced across town to Chetham’s School of Music. Built in the grounds of what used to be Manchester Castle, this 14th century former manor house also includes a truly unique library of ancient tomes dating back to 1655. The ceremony took place in the Baronial Hall, Sophie walked up the aisle and Kev simply beamed with happiness. After the formal part of their day, the guests exited into the sunshine and I took the couple for some portraits around Chetham’s Library. They were so thrilled to be together that I simply watched from a distance and let them enjoy themselves.
The couple exited the school and into the sunshine to enjoy some confetti with their family and friends. We paused form some family portraits in the courtyard before making the short journey back to the Great John Street Hotel. Sophie & Kev arrived at the hotel for their drinks reception in the gorgeous Oyster Bar, chatting with friends enjoying drinks and delicious canapés. We had a quick stroll through St John’s park for a few sunshine portraits before the wedding part enjoyed a round of speeches on the stairs of the Oyster Bar.
Drum + Brass = Party
After a delicious meal, everyone simply relaxed into the evening. Kev is a huge wrestling fan and his best man had bought him his very own belt so, of course, we had to get some portraits of him with his fine trophy. The couple’s wedding band Drum ‘n’ Brass we set up and ready to start the party. Sophie & Kev took to the dance floor as man and wife with their guests soon following after for a pretty epic night!
So Huge Congratulations guys, such a fun wedding enjoyed by two of the nicest people I’ve met so far this year! Enjoy their preview and as Kev might say “Turn It Up Di*kheads!!”
