The Best Oddfellows On The Park Wedding Photography – Celia & Pritesh

Oddfellows On The Park Wedding Photography with Celia & Pritesh. Saturday saw me making the short journey to Cheadle to a brand new venue for me, Oddfellows On The Park wedding photography. Bruntwood Hall was the perfect setting for an Oddfellows style restoration. Its history is rich. From its beginnings as a home for stuff merchant John Douglas and his wife in 1861, a town hall in the war and one of the greatest equestrian studs in the North of England.

I joined Celia and Pritesh who gathered with their family and friends to celebrate their wedding at this amazing location. Walking up the original staircase, I took in the unique decorations before greeting Celia in the gorgeous bridal suite. She was relaxing with her family and friends and preparing herself for the exciting afternoon ahead, MUA Lou Pye was on hand to make sure that the bride looked amazing. Along with her white bridal dress, Celia had a red dress for the evening party. Red symbolizes good luck, happiness, and prosperity for the couple in Chinese culture.

Pritesh arrived before the ceremony to greet the couple family and friends. The Parlor Rooms in the hotel were beautifully decorated by The Soiree Stylists with a unique backdrop and candle lanterns. Celia, dressed and ready, made her way down the stairs of the hotel and up the aisle to meet Pritesh. After a lovely ceremony filled with much laughter, the couple completed the formal part of their day and walked back up the aisle as man and wife. We then ventured outside where the guests showered Celia & Pritesh with confetti and gave massive hugs and kisses of congratulations. After a few family group shots, I stole the couple away for some beautiful portraits around the park. We were pretty lucky that an enormous branch had dropped from an evening bigger tree so we made good use of that.

Chinese Wedding Tea Ceremony

Gathering back in The Parlor Rooms for the wedding breakfast, the couple and their parents took part in their Chinese Tea Ceremony. The earliest written record of tea ceremonies emerged during the Tang Dynasty over 1200 years ago. It was initially called cha dao or the way of tea. In a wedding, such an act is to show respect and gratitude to parents for all the years of love and care. A tea ceremony also meaningful in many other ways. It’s a symbol of purity, stability and fertility. The purity of tea signifies the love is pure and noble; the stability of tea stands for faithful love; the fertility of tea means that the new couple will have many children.

The guests were treated to a round of speeches before a delicious meal with incorporated a mixture of Chinese and Asian cuisine. After dinner, the couple greeted their wedding guests before cutting their wedding cake and taking to the floor to perform their first dance. Their DJ ensured that a great mix of music kept their guests entertained and dancing for the rest of the night.

So a huge congratulations to an awesome couple, it’s been a pleasure to get to know you both and join you on your wedding day. Thanks so much for having me as your photographer!!
